About Nicole
Music and the performing arts are my life-long passion! I am a singer, composer and multi-instrumentalist with extensive experience performing in orchestras, choirs, bands, and shows. I grew up in a family of musicians, playing in orchestras, sitting music exams, and performing in choirs, jazz bands and musicals. During these years I played piano, violin, viola, cello, oboe, saxophone and percussion.
Beginning in my teens, I performed in various original and cover bands on vocals, keyboards and guitar, as well as writing and recording my own songs. In more recent times I have been playing Celtic harp, violin, mandolin and tin whistle in Celtic folk band Lothlórien, who won a New Zealand Music Award in 2001 for their album 'Greenwood Side'.
Over the years I have been teaching both children and adults to play musical instruments, including piano, violin, tin whistle, recorder, and singing. I am a trained teacher, with a kind and patient manner. I enjoy sharing with others my enthusiasm for all kinds of music, and love to see people achieving more than they thought they could!
